As I mentioned in the “About” section of this blog, occasionally I will be posting an “Other Breakfasts” feature. This will sometimes happen when life gets busy, and I haven’t had a chance to write up a restaurant review because family, travel or work have taken up a lot of my time. In that event, I’ll photo-document a few recent homemade breakfasts (as I have below). Sometimes I will share a recipe here for you to try. And then other times, I will simply share photos from a meal or event. With Christmas coming, things have been crazy busy, so I figured this would be a good time to bring you my first “Other Breakfasts” post 🙂
My wife actually made these homemade cornmeal pancakes and sausage patties….with LOTS of butter & syrup!! I love the heavy, yet fluffy, contrast of cornmeal pancakes, and they are especially delicious when you can perfect the art of the crispy edges 🙂
My homemade omelettes filled with veggies and cheese, and buttery toast. I’m a fan of the single-fold style omelette.
This is a box of breakfast meats that we ordered from one of those holiday “meats & cheeses” catalogs. Lots of good stuff in here…peppered bacon, ham, Canadian bacon, maple links, traditional bacon. Many morning meals will benefit from these awesome eats!!
And this is my monstrous creation…I call it “The Avalanche”!! A towering layer of biscuits, sausage patties, fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, and white country gravy on top. Oh yeah!!
I am planning on posting some reviews from our upcoming Christmas trip to Pennsylvania, where we will be enjoying some of the local breakfast places while we’re out with family. I also have a list of local spots I want to hit in the new year, and look forward to finding some new favorites here in Cbus!! See you then!!
